SmarterMaths 2020 – HSC Teacher Edition updates
Two out of three schools in the top 100 performers in all HSC Mathematics courses subscribed to SmarterMaths in 2019 (Sydney Morning Herald, “HSC Honour Roll 2019”, 18 December 2019, pp.4-5).
Hi XXXX,
First of all, a sincere thank you for subscribing in 2019. Your support of our program has helped us grow and improve our products.
We’ve had an extremely busy and productive Summer, adding tens of hours of new high quality questions to the database and bringing a number of our heavily used worksheet features completely up to date.
Notwithstanding the above, our program is super flexible and as new information is released by NESA and we further research new topic areas, rest assured databases and analyses will be adjusted to reflect the best information out there.
Without further ado, some program updates are listed below which might be of interest.
Program Updates
- NEW CONTENT – All HSC courses have seen their databases increased significantly during the break. Tens of hours of high quality questions have been added across all topics, including never before examined content.
- With around 65% of old HSC questions still examinable, all relevant questions have been recategorised, with a significant number reallocated betweeen courses.
- Where small adjustments have been required to keep a past question within the scope of the new syllabus, this has been done.
- We address the recent “content creep” in the NESA Nov-19 syllabus changes. Our analyses will state if any changes are applicable for the 2020 HSC or only need to be applied to the class of 2021 onwards.
- Our heavily used “Analysis” features have been fully updated in Std2 and Advanced, with Ext1 analyses currently rolling out.
- Targeted worksheets have been fully updated in Standard 2. Expect to see these gradually becoming available in Advanced and Ext1 in the early weeks of Term 1.
- Your school’s past HSC results (RAP data) will be integrated into all the new courses seamlessly. If you want to update or upload your past results for the first time, simply click “Get Help” on the “Build A Worksheet” bar on the website.
- Our NAPLAN program has seen significant investment in its online features, including the expansion and further improvement of online testing and a quantum leap in its user managment capabilities. All NAPLAN subscribers will be upgraded at no cost as these features are rolled out.
Thanks and regards,
Matt Burgess
